The main reason is that BLACK background
the webcam is going crazy trying to adjust for
all that black in the background and causing
the bluish color to the photos.
Get a lighter color background curtain
(NOT ALL WHITE either, that is just as bad as all black)
a light gray, tan, beige etc.
Especially when shooting black people - look at the samples

bring out all the natural skin tones and facial colors

If you are planning to do Green Screen, DSLR (and knowing how to use and adjust one) would be the best. As far as a roof over the booth, it has it's good and bad.
Trial and error in testing will be your best solution PRIOR to doing ANY event(s).

Resizing pictures when make templates usually it should automatically
resize to 4*6 once you double clicked outside the template
