Along with the touch screen option in an earlier discussion:

  1. Open for the user to pick from 2 different layouts choices that the admin designates
  2. Option for the user to email the picture to themselves ( This of course with a touch screen option would require a limited pop up on screen keyboard)

i am new and absolutely loving [spark]booth! thank you john wu! We started a Photo Booth business, and it is going so well. We would love to add a video capture option to our packages. I don't know if that is possible or been brought up before.

    1. Id like it to have an option to take pictures that are rectangle like the ones using a regular camera if that is possible.

    2. support for 2 monitors. One showing partybooth app for clients, one only for the operator.

    3. A drag and drop plus resize option for the photo layout then option to save as a new lay out.

    4. video capture option after the end of the 4 pictures while printing so that the guests can give a few minute of message that can be saved in DVD.

    5. Green Screen option

    6. option for two printers so while the other one is printing or you are replacing dyes or photo paper you can take pictures again and it will print on the other one. no time wasted.

    7. is this too much? hahaha

    my suggestion?

don't go crazy with the feature set.

IMO offering the end user too many choices at picture time is not the way to go. If the experience is to mimic an actual photobooth from days gone by, keep it that way.

4 images, in a vertical strip. period. If you wanted color and the booth was B&W, you had to go find another booth!

John, please consider the layour options seriously. having a non-square image is a request of mine as well. I feel with your background and overlay options already in the app, what more could you need?

I see a video capture mentioned... Attach another webcam and get your video that way.

John, please don't Microsoft this app up!

Just say no to the bloat!

Just my opinion of course... I could be wrong.

First, the video cature. Originally, i was a huge proponenof this. I have now changed my view completly. Beginning in 2011 my company will offer this as an option. But it cannot be done in the photobooth. We built a totally seperate structure to acheive this. We beleive, to have video, you must have several components. 1. touch screen operation
    2.choice of video length(15, 20, 30 sec. etc)
3.ability for user to review, save, or try again.
    4.hand held microphone
Typically, at large events getting more than 150 patrons in and out of the booth is a challenge. Imagine if half of those people were doing video also. Useage would be reduced significantly. If four people get in to have a picture, than they would all want to leave a seperate video message. Peronally, I would not want to leave a message unless i had the option to review, save or delete. Now, a three minute process per sitting turns into 5 to 10 minutes. Ultimately, John will continue to add new options and features that have already made sparkbooth, the groundbreaking application that it has become. But he will always leave the choice to turn them all off and just have a traditional photobooth app. Thats how its happened previously. Would love to get rectangular pictures though. Brian

This comment was split into a new discussion: How to add background images

I WAS WONDERING HOW TO INSERT IMAGES INTO THE WHITESPACE ON THE PHOTO LAYOUTS? EVERY TIME I TRY IT INSERTS IT DIRECTLY INTO THE MIDDLE. NO MATTER WHAT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO INSERT IT INTO THE WHITE SPACE BECAUSE PUTTING IT INTO THE MIDDLE EVERY TIME IT DOES ME NO GOOD. THE PHOTOS COVER THE IMAGE EVERY TIME AND THAT IS NOT GOOD. PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS YOU CAN BECAUSE WE HAVE AN EVENT THIS THANKSGIVING EVE AND WOULD LIKE A RESOLUTION BEFORE HAND.

    THANKS
