Password Protected Photo Album
I use a touchscreen for the services.
I find ut very usefull to do everythig on screen, and once I started sparkbooth, I like to put the keyboard and mouse away, and work only with the touchscreen. The thing is sometimes I want to print some other copies of the pictures taken, but I don't want the users to have acess to it. The problem with the photoalbum is that people spend a lot of time checking everyone's elses pictures (that where taken before them, obviously), and they end up printing a lot of pictures not only of them, but also from friends. Is there a way to password protect the photoalbum so only staff could gain acess to that part of the program? I want people to have a lot of pictures, but some of them are their right and others could be professional courtesy...
Thanks
Zorza
ps. some other option could be to hide the photoalbum button and to make it a press on the top right of the screen or some other place where people woudn't put their fingers on. Usually people go for the center of the screen..

or how about a "CTRL+A" for album or something like that, similar to the CTRL+Z or other. BTW, how do you do those with touch screen only?

I think that could work..
Even when sparkbooth is at full screen, I still get on the edge of the screen the little keyboard hidden. So, I just touch that specific area (users don't even see it) and the touchscreen keyboard pops out.. Is that what you wanted to know??
ps. I use the mouse and the usual phisical keyboard to set everything up. It is just more simple and quicker.. ONly when things are ready to go, I press the full screen and hide the mouse and keyboard... Is this what you wanted to know??

Yes, thanks, I was just wondering as I have not invested in a touchscreen yet? Which one do you use/recommend?
I have also been looking into an all-in-one PC but have not decided yet, I would like to have an external monitor setup to be running the photos in a slide show as well as have another monitor sitting on a table near the booth to help guests fill in their email address, etc. a little quicker as I've found when there is a line waiting and people are messing around it can slow things down a bit.

Hi John.. Still no chance of this passwd protected album mode? I want to be able to print some copies, burt don't want regular users to do it... It could be a commercial version only thing... :)
Thanks

Did you try Sparkbooth 3.5? Go to Settings > Commercial > Photo album kiosk
mode?

I did. The problem with that, is that it is good if I have a separeted computer running on the booth.
What I want to be able to do is:
1) guests take pictures as usual
2) sometimes, one guest or the bride will want some of the pictures re-printed. I want to go to kiosk mode, but don't want to mess in the settings.. I would have a button to enter that mode that would be passed protected. That way, only I can reprint the pictures. I need this in order to keep guets from printing a lot of pictures of them and other guests.. Only I could repint pictures.. As I use a touchscreen, the passwd would be great to do it quickly and without people understanding what the passwd is..
Thanks

There is no password protected album, but you an turn on the keyboard
shortcut to display the album, and turn off the on screen album button.
Go to Settings > Keyboard to enable the shortcut and Settings > Start
Screen to disable the button

Is there a way to enable a payment in the kiosk mode or are you working towards that? i.e. users come back and want to pay for a photo or to print a duplicate photo, they find it on the kiosk and click on it and it asks them for payment (paypal, credit card, or even cash...there are so many credit card processors now this should be quick to implement, like intuit gopayment, square, paypal, etc). You can add a simple "Pay Now" button from paypal very easily. Or a mobile version of SB may be what's needed next as the kiosk, so you pick your photo and slide your card in any of the 3 or so mobile payment processors that you choose.
Think of it like this, you put your booth in an event for free and people pay for their photos only if they want to, you get a couple hundred people paying you $1-$5 per print and you come out ahead. I've been doing it the old fashioned way and just asking for cash and sometimes get almost as much out of reprints than the fixed rental cost.
My printing costs are so low for photos now, I'm thinking of not having any rental fees for some events and print out all photos that are taken in the booth and then hanging them out like they do on cruise ship to temp you to buy them (spontaneous purchase).
Please consider it, now that you have the kiosk mode you are almost already there.
Thanks
