ask users for consent/save photos in separate folder

Hi, it would be great if we had a feature to ask users a customizable question and, depending on their answer, save the photos in a sepearate folder or mark the file with a specific appendix like yes or no.

With this, I could ask "Do you give permission that company xy can us your photo?" Companies frequently ask me for this feature (even though they know it doesn't comply with the GDPR in Europe)

Is this sth. you might consider adding, @John?

That takes a lot of programing to customize the program to react based on the persons answer what I suggest you do is place a cover screen in front so when the persons walk in they see this message that says company xy might use your picture for advertising and promotion if yes press the start screen what we do is on the contract we have a paragraph with a yes or no asking the client permission to post to the gallery or permission to use image for advertising that paragraph will legally cover you.

Why don't you just use the disclosure screen to let people know that photos
will be used for advertising? If they do not agree, then the photo booth
    will not start.

Thanks for the input but I still want people to be able to use the booth. And then kindly ask if they are ok with me using their photo.
The way I'm doing it now:
Using the upload-to function to ask the users. If they agree, I upload the photo to google photos. But this needs internet coverage all the time. Maybe you can add an "upload"-feature where the photo simply is saved to a specified folder locally?

Also, I don't see the disclosure-screen-option. Since which version is it available?

So I'm guessing this disclosure screen is in some beta?

No the disclosure screen is one you create
with the words you want in the disclosure.

    I can help you...
Type the exact words you want your disclosure
to read here and I will create a screen that you can
use and send it back to you.
Then you can select this disclosure to use from your computer.

That won't be necessary, I'm pretty sure I can do this myself. Only problem is: I don't seem to see that option. From the looks of it, it should be somewhere in the "F2-settings". But i don't see it:

It is in the new version 6.0
But you can add a on screen message the same
in older versions using the Screen Overlays at Start of session
but not have the Accept / Cancel choices

Yes, I know. This is what I'm doing atm.
Ok then, will give v6.0 a try.

So: back to my other question ;-)

Any chance, there will be an additional upload-feature where I can save the photos in a separate folder?

  12. Support Staff 12 Posted by Joe Connell on 13 Sep, 2018 01:40 PM

    Joe Connell's Avatar

You can only save in ONE location of your choice
    in Settings > Saving
If you need to save to a second location you would need to copy from that location to a second location manually - of create a script code that does it behind the scene.
This is not a feature that most users would use and is not one that will be added.

BTW ... I see you have a lot of Sparkbooth license purchased
do you also build and sell photo booths?
I know many users who are always looking for a new booth

  14. 14 Posted by boehm.basti on 13 Sep, 2018 02:02 PM

    boehm.basti's Avatar

We build our own booth's but do not sell them. We use them ourselves ;-)

As for the additional feature: I think this is something that many users will appreciate as more and more business clients ask for sth. like that in the light of the DSGVO/GDPR in Germany/Europe.

We have a lot of competition from sharingbox who offer this kind of feature and I've been asked several times now by my clients.

In order to use a skript to copy certain files from their original folder, I would need to know, which files to copy. Breeze is creating a xml-file for each photo where information like that could be found.

If sparkbooth would for example name files that the users agreed to with an additional appendix like "yes", this would be something I could filter and copy externally ;-)

Can you give me your company web site URL and
I can then see how you are offering your clients
special options that they are always requesting.
    Here is my web site
You can see what we offer

Just to be clear: Having been in this business for many years, the solution can sometimes be to just not offer too many choices as not to confuse customers. This is true especially with private customers.

But it's a totally different thing when it comes to business-clients. If they ask for sth. and you cannot deliver, they will go to someone who can.

When we started, all I needed was sparkbooth. I still love the program for it's feature-richness, simplicity and, most of all, the very reasonable price.

But I had to get used to DSLRbooth and DLSR Remote Pro as well because there are some things Sparkbooth simply can't provide...

What about using the prompt feature? All the answers to the prompts are
saved to a text file with the party to the saves image file.

    That might work

At some point, I will be implementing the survey feature to replace the
prompts, which will probably work better for what you want. But I am
working on other higher priority features now, so I do not know when that
    will happen.

You might be able to use the gateway screen to display a web survey. Then
based on the answer watch the status file for when a file is saved, and
move the saved file to a different folder. It will require some custom
    programming on your side. See

Hi John, that looks interesting and it's good to know that sparkbooth is still moving forward implementing new features.

From what I saw on first glance, this will result in a yes or no decision where no means the cancellation of the session/print. This makes sense if you want to use it for payments. But I would still want to allow guests to start a session/print a photo even if they voted "no". So I guess I will have to wait for the survey-feature.

Not true. If you ask a yes / no question, it can still go to the success
    URL so nothing is cancelled.
