Runtime Error!

I am experiencing a frustrating problem. Latest version of SB DSLR, fresh, clean install of windows 7. Everything runs snappy and solid, but I get random freezes. Always right before the live view is supposed to open (I use a start screen between sessions so it doesn't stay open.) Windows throws a runtime error. SB needs to close. Sometimes I get one session. Sometimes 15. Its hard to replicate and pinpoint what is causing it. I have an Acer Iconia w700 tablet, 4GB, i5. Canon 7D. Ive tried turning off printing and wifi. Still freezes. Turned sound off, still freezes. Changed USB cables. Tweaked camera settings. Cannot figure out what is causing this runtime error. Any help?!

    Only thing I can think of... my tablet is a 1.7GHZ quad core i5, John Wu recommends 2.5 ghz. Could it be the issue?! I never had this problem in the past with previous SB versions.

    The DSLR version System Requirements: Windows (7 or later),
    compatible Canon or Nikon DSLR camera, 4GB or more RAM,
    and Intel i5 processor or better (2.5Ghz or faster) recommended

    YES, I am sure that is your problem... even the 4.0 version
    had the same system requirements and if you did not have issues,
    you were lucky. I know of people running on even less
    but they are not using many of the features that the
    newer version has available.

    The new features are added from user requests.

    You can use the 4.3 version of the software if that version works
    better for you. Your 5.0 license key can open and run the 4.3 version.

    Jus to make sure, can you send your log by holding down shift-ctrl-9 from
    Sparkbooth's main screen?

    Also can you send a screenshot of the runtime error message?

    I would guess that the processor is overheating. Even if it can keep up with the software (meaning it's powerful enough) it's housed inside a plastic/metal sandwich with no airflow. Tablets are great for portability but aren't meant to be run at 100% CPU utilization for extended periods.
    You could open up Windows Resource Monitor and let it run in the background while you run sessions until you get the error, then look back at the graph and see if there were any fluctuations or if it was running at 100% the whole time.

    Thank you for the input. I’ll work on posting the log today. Wiped version 5 and installed 4.3 and it’s working like a charm. No retake option, but I can survive until I decide to purchase a new tablet.
