Dear sparkbooth Team

We have a problem with the installed "Photo Booth Software for Canon and Nikon DSLR" Software. The functions are all working well, but the software start is just working every second time. The software is in the automatic start for the Windows OS, so after Windows is booting up the software is also starting. Sometimes it works well, sometimes the software start in a small window instead of fullscreen. If it is starting in a small windows you can not control the software, it seems like it is not really startet. We can just close the software and start it again, then it starts in fullscreen and works fine.
We also tried to take the software out of Autostart and start it via Task Scheduler. But if we start the EXE-File with the Task Scheduler, it always open in a small windows and do not work.

Do you know this problem? What can we do, that the software always starting fine and in full screen?

    If the software starts fine when you click on the spark booth icon and you are having problems with the automatic start for the Windows OS that tell us you have a problem with your window computer. spark booth does not have any control of window configured settings.

    Thank you for your answer. That's not right, when the software is not started we always do a restart (from remote) and then it works, also with the Autostart. Sometimes when we cklick on the Sparkbooth icon it is also not starting right, just in the small window.

    Is it possible that any services must be running before we start the sparkbooth software?

    The error is sometimes with autostart, sometimes with click on the icon, and always when we start the exe-file with PowerShell. So there is also an error with click on the icon.

    ... To make sure the software starts FULL SCREEN, you can set it to Start Full Screen in the Settings > General... (see attached)

    RE: when we start the exe-file with PowerShell. So there is also an error with click on the icon.
    ... Why are you using PowerShell? Are you doing this remotly and not at the location of the booth?

      * This setting is set. As I explained in the first mail: It should start in FULL SCREEN but sometimes it starts in a small window and then the software is not really startet. Can not click anything, can not click full screen, the video does not start. There is just the icon in the taskbar and an empty sparkbooth-window where the software should start but doesn't.
      * It was a try to start sparkbooth over task scheduler and not over Windows-Autostart. But there is no possibility to start the software over task scheduler, if we start over task scheduler it always is not starting (just the empty sparkbooth-windows)

    I suggest you stsrt the software DIRECT as normal,
    Turning on the computer and waiting for the computer to fully load
    then click the Sparkbooth software icon and OPEN the software.

    When you are trying to have the software OPEN when you turn on the computer, the computer doesn't always do things in the order they are needed. Ans it will sometimes start the software BEFORE the computer has Fully loaded causing issues like you are having.

    I suspect this is a booth you have at a perminate location and you want it to be set up so they can just turn on the computer... if that is the case, why don't you just leave it on all the time? Then it will be ready anytime needed. YES, I understand this too doesn't always work due to something like camera on too long and shutting down.

    Yes right there are two problems with leave the pc on: the camera goes off, and there are no way for automatic install of updates what is important cause the pc is on the network to send mails.

    So we need an automatic way to start the software. Is there no way to do it?

    Why not switch to a webcam like a Logitec c922 or a Rizo. DSLR camera is not meant to be on constantly for a large period of time they overhead and auto shut down to protect the camera firmware on the other hand a quality webcam can be on constantly and never shuts down. the updates when available can not be set to auto updates are small fixes that we sometimes do not all the time to fix external settings.

    Because of the quality of the picture through the glas. And the Canon Camera is already bought, we dont want to buy new equipment because of an error with the software.

    You say because of an error with the software.
    There is NO Error in the software, it is how you
    are trying to use it that is causing your problems.

    You don't understand when you set the computer to
    auto start software, it doesn't always work correctly.

    The computer does a lot of loading of all the programs
    that it has and when you set one software to Auto Open
    in the computer when you turn it on... it may open the software
    before the computer has completely loaded, causing a problem
    in the software that it Opened... this is NOT a Sparkbooth issue.
    It is because of the way you are opening the software at start up.

    Regarding: Switch to a HD webcam - You say, No because of the quality of the picture through the glass

    I have been doing photo booths for over 12 years and using a HD (High Definition) webcam and good lighting, you can get photos that are as good as any DSLR camera. (see attached)

    Thank you for the feedback. I understand it with the auto start, but I told that the error sometimes also happen when we click on the sparkbooth icon. So where comes the error here if not from sparkbooth?

    But let's see what I can do to make it a better solution. Yes not buying a webcam cause of the quality was a reason, I know now that webcams can to same quality of pictures. But second reason was, we already have a DSLR-Camera and we have done the setting «Disable auto shut down from the camera» but the DSLR camera is still automaticly shuting down. Is there a known problem here? Or to make another variant of this setting?

    I think actually best solution is not to shutdown every evening, but probably shut down once a week and start sparkbooth manually after the reboot and check if the start happens right. Is there no way to start the software via task scheduler?

    What is the newest version of sparkbooth? We should have installed the newest version, but I will check it back.

    ... YES, DSLR cameras are not meant to be on constantly for a large period of time they overhead and auto shut down to protect the camera frome damage. Ther is NO WAY to prevent this with a DSLR camera. As a webcam can beo no for as long as you need, hours, days, months and they will not shut down or over heat.

    FIRST we need the email that you have registered to the software,
    you can find it on the Settings > About page near the top.
    If you don not provide the email, we will not be able to continue with support.

    The photo booth is buyed as a whole system yes. But from where and the order number I need to ask my co-worker. Cause at this time where it was bought, I wasn't in this company. Can answer you this question next week cause this week my co-worker is not in the country.

    I think you can not tell me for which email this license was. I just try to explain: This is not our own photo booth, we are the IT Support company who helps the company which has bought this photo booth.

    I will send you next week. In between i try to fix the error with a registry-entry on the windows-registry to delay the autostart programs by 3 minutes. Probably this helps with the software start.
