Hi there!!

I have a quick question regarding my canon camera and the recommended settings when using it with sparkbooth. Whatever settings I have it on, there is about a 2 second delay or so. I am looking to see what you all recommend. Thanks!!

    Hello Kara,

I suspect you have a DSLR camera and set for Auto Focus
and we recommend using Manual Focus.

REASON: During a session, when the software counts down
and as soon as it hits **0"" it sends the command to the camera
to TAKE the photo... when you use Auto focus, the camera
receives the commane and NOW has to take time to FOCUS
(that is your 2 second delay)

The photo(s) would be taken INSTANTLY if you use Manual focus.
When using a DSLR camera you need to do the follwoing:
    • Make sure the camera is connected to the computer
    • Make sure the camera is Turned On
    • In the Sparkbooth Camera settings (Ctrl+3) select the DSLR camera
    • On the DSLR camera, set the dial on top of the camera to M manual
    • On the DSLR camera lens (left side) set the switch AF - MF to AF
for the first photo - have someone STAND in front of the camera where the
guest/users will be standing for photos... and Start a session... after the FIRST
photo is taken CHANGE the AF - MF switch to MF
... this will set the focus and help with the Depth of Field needed for your photos.
    (see attached)
    • Try setting the camera to F5.6 to have the Depth of Field for a range
to get better focus on the area with more people in the shot.

IF you are not a professional photographer and do not know how to set up a DSLR camera, I suggest you watch some YouTube videos on how to use your DSLR camera(s) [Canon or Nikon] - it is not a simple "Turn it on auto and shoot"... there are many adjustments required when using a DSLR camera and one setting wrong can cause bad photos.
