Activation

Hello,
   My laptop died and i had to replace the hard drive, if i reactive it on the new hard drive will it count as another activation?

    Yes. But you do not lose activations since you can always reset them when
    you use them up. See

    Awesome that makes me feel a lot better. So it just limits the licensing to three machines.

    The activation limit is the number of activated installs at the same time.
