and it is possible that the camera TIMED OUT and shut down
causing this Error Message.
In the camera setting (Ctrl+3) have your attendant
change the LV Time to a higher number (like attached)

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T17:31:40Z2018-10-20T17:31:40ZUnable to connect to live view

Thanks joe. He also told me that the camera image stabilization was on, which it shouldn’t be. I had him turn it off.

manderson0488tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T17:36:38Z2018-10-20T17:36:38ZUnable to connect to live view

I had him check that Joe, our settings are different:

manderson0488tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T17:51:50Z2018-10-20T17:51:50ZUnable to connect to live view

See attached... suspect this was why you did not see it...
In Screen settings Ctrl+2 Uncheck Use start screens and
then you will see the LV Timeout

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T17:55:03Z2018-10-20T17:55:03ZUnable to connect to live view

Read from your own screen shot...

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T19:51:31Z2018-10-20T19:51:31ZUnable to connect to live view

Oh I see, you are right. That is why I don't have that option. The whole purpose of the start screens though, is so the LV turns off between seessions and turns on when starting a session. The is to prevent the LV from "burning out". This is how I have always had it set.

manderson0488tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T20:00:05Z2018-10-20T20:00:05ZUnable to connect to live view

YES but the camera will shut down no matter what you have set in the software... this is done (by Canon) to prevent your camera for over heating and causing damage to the camera...
It appears that the only reason it FIRST happened today was, the Camera was hotter than normal and the Auto (camera) shut down was activated by the camera.
I suggest you set it all back the way you had it and if it happens again... just turn off the camera (for a few seconds) and turn it back on, then the Sparkbooth software will again recognize that the camera IS there and you can continue doing sessions.

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/463006802018-10-20T20:03:20Z2018-10-20T20:03:20ZUnable to connect to live view

fIngers crossed for that! lol

manderson0488
