Laptop 1 is your booth computer that does the sessions and saves the layouts to an external drive on laptop 2 ... (?) how are these 2 computers connected for laptop one to send/save the layouts on the laptop 2 external drive?

ALSO the Kiosk (L2) will be looking for the SAVE folder that you set up in the Settings > Saving on (L1)...

Why would you not Save the layouts on L1 ? and choose to use another computer with an external drive? This seems to be a confusing set up you have created.

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/492016192021-05-17T22:32:45Z2021-05-17T22:32:45Zphoto kiosk setup

I have the laptops connected/networked via a switch. I can see the drives on both laptops from either one. This includes the external drive.

The booth laptop is running windows 7 and is not as robust as the other laptop. So, I connected the external drive to the 2nd laptop which also has the printer attached.

The 2nd laptop (I hope) will be configured to just print the photos. I tried setting #2 as a photo kiosk, but the album only shows single photos... not the 2x2 layout.

I have both versions of SB pointing to the external drive (E:) to save the photos.

If this is not the best configuration, please let me know how to set up the 2 laptops.

The you must have the Layout Photos
in your Saving setting set wrong
(see attached)

This is how you would set up 2 computers
Photo booth (L1) takes the photos saved to a connected external drive
and the other is the kiosk (L2) that prints layouts

A) L1 (photo booth) - should have the external drive attached
to save the photos/layouts on connected external drive - with no printing
B) L2 (kiosk) - networked to L1 - no switch needed
set up for printing with the printer connected to this computer

You seem to be making it more complicated and
having the Layout/photos saved on a different computer
using a switch is more work for the L1 computer than
saving to a connected external drive...

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/492016192021-05-18T00:07:04Z2021-05-18T00:07:04Zphoto kiosk setup

sorry... forgot to attach

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/492016192021-05-18T00:07:07Z2021-05-18T00:07:07Zphoto kiosk setup

I do not know. Some people just use Dropbox or other folder syncing folder
to sync 2 separate folders
You would also need to make sure both computers are using different
filename when saving the images

Johntag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/492016192021-05-18T00:26:20Z2021-05-18T00:26:20Zphoto kiosk setup

Ignore my comment about the filename. I thought you were doing something
else

John
