Edit Layout of buttons, fonts etc.

Hi,

I have found many instructions on how to change templates. I would be interested if there are possibilities to customize the interface other than font, background and color of the buttons. For example, I would like to customize the border of the font and also windows (I'm not a fan of gradients). Maybe it would also be nice to change some icons. Is that possible?
