There are a few that will slow down the time when they are Animated
(see sample video attached)

I hope this is what you are asking

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-08-10T11:31:12Z2020-08-10T11:31:12ZCountdown painfully slow

I would like to be able to set the time span of the last countdown (1 to trigger) separately to compensate a little for the camera's release delay.

Now the triggering is not in time and guests are already looking away when the photo is taken. - Yes, I know, if you work without AF, it's not that extreme :-)

Stefantag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-08-10T13:17:52Z2020-08-10T13:18:56ZCountdown painfully slow

Yes, it appears you are using AF and there is no way to be accurate
on when your camera will focus on the person/people in the booth.

This is an EASY fix using Manual focus
(Yea, I understand you don't want to use MF)
BUT it is simple and will capture 99% of all your photos
in perfect focus...

Before starting an event, set your camera to AF and do a session,
as soon as the first photo has taken in AF, change the setting
on the lens from AF to MF or P.

This will lock the focus from the first photo taken and now be in Manual
to take all the photos during your event. No time delay when the software
sends the command to SNAP the photo...
it is instant at the end of the Count down.

If you continue using AF, you can never be accurate in timing
for when the camera will focus. It can be 1/2 a second or
as much as 5 seconds... depending on what is happening
in front of the camera that it is trying to focus on.

Sorry, I am sure this is not what you wanted to hear...
but that is how AF works...

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-08-10T13:20:32Z2020-08-10T13:20:32ZCountdown painfully slow

NOTE: I forgot to mention...
SOMEONE MUST BE IN THE BOOTH FOR THIS FOCUS
ADJUSTMENT TO BE SET CORRECTLY... not an empty shot
it requires someone to focus on...

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-08-11T18:03:34Z2020-08-11T18:03:34ZCountdown painfully slow

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I would really like to adjust (shorten) the last countdown in Sparkbooth, or rather listen to it :-)

As a photographer, I am aware of the interrelationships between AF use and non-use.

However, when I work with manual focus, I still have a delay from flipping the mirror down before taking the picture. Unfortunately not all cameras can flash when I use the option to keep the mirror up.

Stefantag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-08-11T18:11:14Z2020-08-11T18:11:14ZCountdown painfully slow

Are you referring to the live view being turned off before taking the photo?

Johntag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-09-09T07:56:51Z2020-09-09T07:56:51ZCountdown painfully slow

Sorry for my late answer. I missed your query.

That is exactly what I mean. Under Ctrl-3 I have activated the setting "Use of external flash...".

Stefantag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-09-09T15:03:48Z2020-09-09T15:03:48ZCountdown painfully slow

When you have that setting enabled, it will turn off the live view before
taking the photo which takes some time. Some camera models have issues
taking a photo with live view on, but you can try disabling it and see if
it works with your camera.
You can also use a webcam for the live view instead

Johntag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-09-09T19:35:47Z2020-09-09T19:35:47ZCountdown painfully slow

Unfortunately it does not work if it is deactivated. So I would like to be able to trim the last countdown time. Then the triggering would fit at least approximately into the rhythm of the countdown time intervals.

I didn't know about the possibility to share DSLR and webcam in Sparkbooth. But for that the Photobooth would have to be redesigned. That doesn't fit so well at the moment.

Stefantag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/485341972020-09-09T21:51:36Z2020-09-09T21:51:36ZCountdown painfully slow

Only other option (IMO) is to use the
In Settings > Countdown
Countdown NONE: Trigger each shot
and manually trigger each shot when you want it taken.

Joe Connell
