Is there a way to keep the countdown going and switch from video mode to camera mode. i.e. Right now it counts down from three and after 3 2 1 it switches from video mode to camera and takes photo. After 1 it makes noise as if it is taking photo and I get a lot of people thinking the photo is over in that second only for it to take the photo. Is there a way to have it count down such as 3 2 (change from video mode to camera 1 and then take photo?

    Patrick,

I am not sure what you are asking...
At the end of the count down, the software sends the command to the camera to take the photo (it is instant... no delay* ) [ * unless if you are using Auto focus, there could be a delay 1-3 second while the camera is focusing]

There is a delay after the last second and a switch from video mode to
manually mode. 3 seconds is really 5.

I do not understand what you mean. Can you record a video showing what is
    happening?

Are you referring to live view being switched off before it takes a photo?
If so, you can disable that by unchecking the setting under camera settings
(press ctrl-3 to display) See screenshot.
