My previous sony dye sub was able to print just 1 2x6, if asked in sparkbooth. This new printer will only print 2-2x6, one will have the image the other will be blank. Do you know any way to program the printer to only print 1-2x6, or this printer can not do it?

There is a printer DNP RX1 that CAN print single 2X6 strips
BUT USE CAUTION when you set the printer for this
it will use the same amount of MEDIA (ink) for a 2X6 as it does
for a full or split 4X6 print - actually wasting 1/2 of your paper.

You can not purchase paper or media separately
so using the 2X6 feature will NOT save you anything
and you would be better off printing the double strips and
    giving away the extra prints...
the wasted paper would only be tossed out with the used media
when you run out of media... you change BOTH the paper and media.

This does make sense because my Sony/DNP at the end of the ink would Have a lot of paper left, I always wondered why.

That is why, you should NEVER use a DYESUB printer
to print single 2X6 ONLY strips... you can not use
the remaining paper because you can not purchase
    MEDIA without the paper.

WHY? because users kept requesting to be able to
print single 2X6 strips and the printer companies
are giving them what they asked for
but they do not tell you about the waste because
you will be buying paper/media twice as fast and
the printer companies are happy to take your money.
