I do have a 4k Monitor, several actually. However I am mainly interested in
the extra resolution for print quality. Also before someone asks, yes my PC
that runs my photo booth is more than capable of processing 4k images
quickly. Thank you for the fast response, I hope that 4k support is added
soon.

who say that DSLR is the answer...
The largest prints will only be a 4X6 and most of the photos
are reduced down to fit on a 2X6 strip @ 2" wide.
Here are a few photo samples from my events
and the quality is great and my clients love them.

Can you tell me if these were done with a webcam or DSLR?

I figure this is a PHOTO BOOTH and not a photographers studio
and as long as I have good lighting, a backdrop curtain that is
the right color and proper camera set up, my photos will always be
of high enough quality for what is expected in a photo booth.

My 2¢ on this

This is where I don't think the Brio @ 4K would make much of a difference over the C922.
That being said...It would be fun to play with high res (if it didn't cripple the processor)

Rob (ZCZ)tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/448025092018-02-27T15:37:25Z2018-02-27T15:37:26Z4k Logitech Brio

I'm with Rob on this one. The extra resolution is just a nice bonus to have
and play with. I currently have DSLR booth installed and it can be set to
save every individual picture in addition to the composite. I have had
several events where providing the original full res images was a home run
for the client. I have 2 large LED octoboxes that I use and I have found
that ample soft lighting brings the quality on the webcams WAY up and the
motion blur way way down.

I had the opportunity a while ago to take stills with a c920, c922, and a
brio with my setup using non photo booth software that supported 4K. The
922 does indeed take nice pictures, but the added resolution of 4K was very
desirable. You never know when some may want to order a nice big print of a
photo booth image. I have also run the booth with a cannon 40d, of course a
DSLR will always win the quality race. But the added complication of the
setup, and the shorter life span with a mechanical shutter was a big
detractor.

BINGO that is my #1 reason for not using a DSLR
camera and as long as I can get Great Quality (IMO)
photo booth style prints that my clients love,
why spend $600+ on a DSLR camera that is not
designed to be on with LIVE VIEW for more than
15-20 minutes and will either shut down or fry
the video board within the camera.

I have always said "This is a photo booth and not a photo studio"
The guest/users are there to have fun and get a decent photo strip
to take home and even when they move too fast and get motion blur,
they laugh and the next time they use the booth, they move fast
just to get another funny blurry photo to laugh at.

I have 1,000's of examples in my Gallery
www.A1PhotoBooth.com/gallery
and we provide our client a disk with
EVERY photo and strip at the end of the event.

I am not saying everyone should do what we do
...do what works best for you and your clients.
If you are in a market that pushes DSLR/4K
and can not show samples of high enough quality
with the equipment you are using, then you need to
find better equipment that can do the job for your clients.

YES I have had a Couple (2) sessions where a guest
was not happy with their photo and I could only say ...
"SORRY but you are a very dark skinned person and
making your face clearer will alter the quality of the
others you are taking the photo with... but we can
do another session and you will see the difference..."
[see samples as this was done]

Guess what photo they liked the best...

Joe Connelltag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/448025092018-02-27T16:20:14Z2018-02-27T16:20:14Z4k Logitech Brio

ME TOO Rob... !!!!

Joe Connell
