Your Budget and time you will spend using the printer.

Starting with time spending ... an Ink Jet printer can do a good
job
but you will need to continually refill the printer paper and
every
4X6 double layout will need to be manually cut.
Time to print each layout session 2-3 MINUTES
Cost of ink jet printers is cheap $79-$200
We (a1 Photo Booth) used an Epson Charm 225 ink jet printer
that worked great with few problems... cost about $89-$139
and refill paper and ink $40 per 150 4x6 paper stock
that = about .27¢ per print

But we finally upgraded a year or so ago to a Dye Sub HiTi
that uses Roll paper and dye sub media to print.
Cost of dye sub printers range $750-$1,200++
advantages is it only take 11-15 seconds to print AND CUT
saving time to make addition prints much faster.
Paper and media for 660 4x6 prints at $90 = about .14¢ per
print

If you are doing this for a business a dye sub printer
will be your best spent $$$ for overall cost and speed.
