to 100% and SB is unusable at that point. I am running the latest
SB 3.1.1, brand new logitech drivers and have tried 3 different
PC's running XP and Vista 32-bit. All PC's have 2.1Ghz minimum with
1-4GB Ram each and same problem. Why is it taking over the
processor?

voip4lifetag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/137263702012-02-15T22:10:07Z2012-02-15T22:10:07ZCPU Maxed out when using Logitech C910 camera

You need to turn down the frame rate and video size to something

running 2.3 processor. We even had a big sticker that said "NO
C910" on that laptop. We have one other g4 series and a couple of
dells and have never had that problem. Eventually the hard drive
crashed and hp sent a new one. Since replacement it is fine. It was
definitely an issue in the os but i could never pinpoint it. It ran
fine with a pro 9000 but as soon as the c910 was plugged in frame
rate dropped to 4 or 5fps
hope this helps some...

briantag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/137263702012-02-16T00:10:30Z2012-02-16T00:10:31ZCPU Maxed out when using Logitech C910 camera

I don't want to get another computer, so are you suggesting
trying another camera? I could try that, I got this C910 as it was
the 'recommended' one and is great for anything else.

voip4lifetag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/137263702012-02-16T03:53:29Z2012-02-27T02:09:06ZCPU Maxed out when using Logitech C910 camera

Yes, Try the logitech pro 9000. Now for my rant on the c910.
Great camera and slightly better crispness than the 9000. It does
have some serious drawbacks for our application. The c910 is so
good that it wants to make the video stream perfect all the time.
Since sparkbooth pulls frames from the video stream, you will
usually end up with 4 different looking photos on the same sitting
which is the result of the camera trying too hard to adjust to
changing color placement within the shot. Try sitting in the shot
and pull a blue item through the frame. Skin tones will go from
orange to blueish depending on where the blue item is at any givin
moment. The fix is to turn off the white balance auto whithin the
logitech software. Even with the auto turned off I am constantly
adjusting during the event. Our company operates 8 booths all using
sparkbooth. I have 1 c910 in inventory and its always the last one
off the shelf, and only if I am working the event myself. I would
never trust an unskilled attendant with it. All my other cameras
are 9000s. Any, thats my rant on the c910.
it over the 910 because of its ease of use. Sometimes the c910
tries a little too hard to get great video, causing some frames to
be off-color. I would never leave an inexpereinced attendant with a
910. Too many adjustments to be made on site.

working quite a bit better on a 4th machine, but not as good of
quality, I'll try to find a pro9000 today, the dance is tomorrow
night and I need to make sure it runs smoothly.

Thanks for you help.

voip4life
