I have Spark Booth 4 and am trying to install it on a fairly new MacBook Air. I got a message said I needed to update my Spark Booth. Can you help me with that?

I don't know what article you are referring to. But newer versions of Mac
os will no longer run Sparkbooth 4 since Apple removed support for 32 bit
applications. You can run the latest Sparkbooth 7 on Mac OS

OK... you need to Download the Premium Version 4.3
for Mac on this Archive Download page and Install.
It will Update your older version 4.0 to the 4.3 version

Appears you have not use your software in a while and
there have been many changes and the older 4.0 version
    requires this update.

    NOTE:... FYI
The Current version now is 7.0 and you are 3 versions behind
...YES, you can continue using the older version for as long as you wish,
but understand, older versions no longe get Updates and changes...
if there is an internet change, social media change or any other out side change
that effects 3rd party software like Sparkbooth. It is possible an older version
may no longer be usable and out of our control.
If that did/does happen, you would need to Upgrade to the latest version
in order to continue useing the software - FYI
