You seem to have answered your own question...
the internet has been super slow at each venue
The kiosk and any uploading is all dependant on
your Internet Connection and the speed of that connection

You could use a hotspot devise and if you are concerned
about
how much data will be transfered for each image upload,
keep in mind the images are about 2 to 5 mb each ...
1gb of data is equal to 1024mb's = 204 5mb images
IMO, I do not think an average 3 hr photo booth would get
even close to 200 uploads during the event.

I am sure others here can give you more info on this topic

Would making the picture size smaller improve this a bit?

The reason i haven't done so is because i like the quality of
the picture, and i don't want to make it smaller than what it is
now.

richardflores14tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/304752782013-12-10T19:52:41Z2013-12-10T19:52:41ZSuggestions on Running the Kiosk

If you are getting "unable to load" errors, does that mean you
were not
able to load the Facebook login page? If that is the case,
shrinking the
photo won't help since you are having issue just loading the
Facebook web
page.

But lowering the quality of the photo will help speed up the
actual
uploads. That feature to change the photo quality will be coming in
a
future update.

Johntag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/304752782013-12-10T19:59:57Z2013-12-10T19:59:57ZSuggestions on Running the Kiosk

Guest sign in to Facebook just fine, then when the upload starts
takes like 3 min and then says unable to upload. Last event only
one person was able to upload the picture
Email as well, loads for a good 2-3 minutes and then says unable to
upload.

richardflores14tag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/304752782013-12-10T20:12:03Z2013-12-10T20:12:03ZSuggestions on Running the Kiosk

Yes that is due to the internet connection isn't stronge
enough
to upload the images... you may do better with a hotspot devise
in locations like that... I did a search and found this link

Now understand we are not suggesting what you should do,
the Sparkbooth software can do a lot of things like sending
photos to be uploaded to many social media sites, but it is
dependant to the actual internet connection at each location
and not a fault of the SB software.
