Using your Photo size Height=1434 X Width=956 and
Overlay Image in Portrait, here is what you can do...
    [see attached]
NOTE you will need to physically Rotate your camera
for a true Portrait photo and set the rotation in the camera setting
to 90 degrees +/- (not the default of 0)

...yes, my sample has the people too close
but it will work as you are asking...

I don't have that option, I am thinking it is because I have 4.0, if I
upgrade to 5.0 - that will fix it?

Portrait setup is a new feature in 5.0. You can upgrade your license key at
    http://sparkbooth.com/upgrade to 5.0

You need to download 5.0 from http://sparkbooth.com/download

    Install 5.0 then...
You need to select the Portrait icon in the Photo Layout page.
TOP area 3 icons - Square - Wide - Portrait

Then in the Layout Editor create a NEW layout Portrait
and add your Overlay graphic/image then add the photo box

Ok I'm at my first event and I can't seem to get a normal start button. It
had push space bar to start? I'm confused, don't we mostly use tablets??
Please help.... this will require quite a few extra steps prior to each
photo making me look very ghetto!

Assuming you have a tablet,/touchscreen monitor you need to change the text under the monitor icon on the toolbar to "Touch screen to start"
