(photos, graphics, text and overlay) ...
Think of the completed layout as a Sandwich
the background is the Bread (white bread with no background
graphic) and all the photos (meats), text (lettuce), graphic
image(s) (tomatoes)... and the Overlay is the Top piece of Bread
(with holes (Swiss?? Cheese?? type Bread 8^)
You can Not have the top bread (overlay) that covers the lettuce
(TEXT) and the TEXT can not be brought to Front OVER the top piece
of bread...

What you could do is add the text to your overlay graphic in
another editor (Paint.Net, photoshop, Paint, etc) then the text
will be seen...

This is NOT a fault of the software, it is jut how the layers
are set up in Sparkbooth

I hope that explains it

sandwich lol...

I understand the way that the layers work, my issue is that I'm
testing a couple of different photo booth programs and I like
yours... but one other program that is trying to earn my money
allows you to put the text over the overlay layer... It basically
works like Photoshop which allows you to position your layers in
the order you want. It would be nice if you could re-order the
layers you are using so that the overlay layer can be behind
something like text...

Yes, I know I can edit the overlay and add the text that way;
that's fine if I don't need to make a lot of changes to the
overlay, but the text to be written is the Bride and Groom's name
which appears in a heart which is part of the overlay.

It would just be nice if I didn't have to rely on another
expensive piece of software to accomplish what this program could
do if it were allowed to... Maybe you guys can look into adding
this feature, I think it would make your program that much
better...

glajeunessetag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/374200372015-07-19T18:01:14Z2015-07-19T18:01:14ZBring text to the front

In that case... your sandwich could have no TOP BREAD
(overlay)

Instead of adding the overlay image as an overlay,
add it as an image graphic and then it would be another slice of
meat
where the Text can be placed on top.

Now that would be the best sandwich that you can use and
make
changes to the names for different events.
I noticed this issue and John (owner/creator) has it on his todo
list to change the layers as you stated... but for now just don't
add overlays and add them as image graphics that will work the
same.
BTW, I do Tech Support for Sparkbooth but I am not an employee
I am a user just like so many more here who help with support.

That might just push me to go with Sparkbooth over the other one I
was looking at.

One last question, if I buy the pro version, do I get free
updates? If yes, for how long?

Thanks!
Guy

glajeunessetag:help.sparkbooth.com,2010-04-06:Comment/374200372015-07-19T18:46:55Z2015-07-19T18:46:55ZBring text to the front

Updates are free for the version # that you purchase
Currently it is the 4.0 version so any/all updates from
4.0 to 4.99 are completely free for life.
But if the next version is 5.0, you would need to get
an Upgrade to 5.0 that is a cost... not as much as a full
purchase
but about $5-$10 more than the difference of the original
version
to the next version...

There is a .2 version in Beta that also has Green Screen (chroma
key)
that will be an update for the 4.0-4.1 users free WHEN it has
been
fully teated and there are no issues/bugs. There are many users
who are using the 4.2 with no problems, but we suggest if you
use
4.2 for any event, you understand it is a Beta version and that
is
at your own risk.

I also offer users One on One support using Skype
where we can talk and I can share my screen (no video needed)
and I can show many features that the users may not know about.
If you have and use Skype, my user name is ccuvideo
send a Contact Request in Skype and I can add you to the
contacts
and then you can really see how great the Sparkbooth software
is
and answer your questions as we are live talking.
